About the General Manager –
Patrick Dorrian
Patrick Dorrian was born in 1969 in Chicago Illinois. Shortly after his birth, his family moved back to Ireland. His first memories of food consisted of overcooked meat, boiled potatoes, boiled fish and a little salt. His mother was not exactly a culinary master. Pizza on Friday’s was the highlight of his week.
While living in New York, his mother met an elderly Italian woman who taught her how to make Lasagna and other meals and so began a love of food.
Patrick started his career at 14 as a busser at the Lawrence Country Club in New York. Throughout his career he was employed in every aspect of the dining experience from dishwasher to cook to management. After receiving his Bachelors Of Science Degree from Loyola University Chicago and studying business at Robert Morris College he began to pursue a full time career in the hospitality industry.
Being on the opening management team of the House Of Blues in Chicago and Las Vegas strengthened his management skills and taught him how to operate efficiently with a large and diverse group of employees and clientele. This exciting multi faceted operation allowed him to practice his management skills in varied environments. Concert management, to special events, fine dining and an extremely busy restaurant all needed his attention.
After leaving the House of Blues Patrick took a position managing for Kevin Wu’s Royal Star in Vegas. After three years of thriving in a new cultural environment he decided it was time to try something new.
He accepted a position as Operations Manager for the Foundation Room Las Vegas. The Foundation Room is a private club featuring fine dining, lounge and nightclub atmospheres. It was here that Patrick was able to put his skills to the test. A multifaceted operation catering to the who’s who in Vegas, celebrities and the international jet set.
After accepting an offer from the Piero Selvaggio Ristorante Gruppo in Las Vegas at Giorgio Ristorante at Mandalay Bay Patrick has found a new home as the General Manager of Valentino Houston. A long way from overcooked meat, boiled potatoes, boiled fish and a little salt .
